Job Description
The Development (mechanical) engineer’s role is within a small team of specialist engineers reporting to the Technical Lead who will be responsible for your pathway development.
You will be required to provide National innovation, design, manufacture and repair of technical equipment and systems for the gathering, distribution and storage of covert product. Covert product is obtained under TSU Operating Procedures OP016, in accordance with National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) – Authorised Professional Practice (APP), authorised under current CT operational demands.
The Development (mechanical) engineer will also be required to carry out research and development of new innovative solutions to produce future assets under the guidance of the Technical Lead. They will utilise CAD and CNC, using a wide range of materials and fabrication machinery to complete the tasking.
You will also be required to support the deployment team when a mechanical specialist is required, or operational demand is high. This may require travel within the UK for durations up to 5 days.
