Job Description
CLI College of Business, Health & Technology is seeking a Developmental Service Worker (DSW) Instructor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have experience in the field of developmental disabilities. We are looking for a mature candidate who has excellent organizational skills, practical skills, outstanding communication abilities, adult teaching/facilitator experience, and a positive friendly demeanor.
Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field.
Instruct curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materials.
Teach students using a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, case studies, and independent or group projects.
Employ appropriate adult teaching and learning strategies to communicate the subject matter to diverse students.
Administer and marks quizzes, assignments, exams and/or other assessments to monitor and evaluate students’ progress according to guidelines and procedures.
Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student marks promptly.
Provide feedback on student performance.
Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multi-cultural environment.
Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude.
Maintain attendance records accurately.
Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation.
Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information.
Stay current in the subject matter through professional development.
Display an attitude of teamwork and problem solving.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Must have a diploma or degree in the related discipline.
Must present with a minimum of two (2) years current, relevant work experience
Skills Required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 is essential.
Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication to present information in a way students will understand
Ability to demonstrate required outcomes in a variety of different learning styles
Excellent oral, written, verbal, and listening communication skills are critical
Ability to maintain engagement by presenting information to students utilizing different learning styles, and teaching techniques
Classroom management and experience are required
Note: The classes are scheduled on Monday & Thursday at 5:00PM-10:00PM EST.
