• We're looking for someone to engineer innovation solutions and technology designs to drive improvements for our customers and colleagues

• Be a part of a technology team that's driving innovation across our bank, including the areas of Finance & Support and Account Close that're in Retail Banking Digitech

What you'll do
As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll design, develop and deploy applications by using industry best practices and delivering testable functionality to meet business and architecture requirements through automated tooling within incremental cycles.
Alongside this, you'll deliver integrated software, scripts and tools that're often complex and have multiple interdependencies across off-host and on-premise platforms. You'll also drive best practices across the domain and provide support to and deliver within the Scrum and feature teams.
In addition, you’ll be:
• Creating quality and testable software in a microservices architecture that utilises standard software patterns and meets user story requirements and architecture objectives
• Working within a team who're responsible for the full lifecycle, from estimation, feasibility, initial design, development and production support through to future enhancement and maintenance
• Delivering DevSecOps leading practices of code designs by using CI/CD and developing the knowledge in the domain for our bank's practices and methodologies
• Recognising the value of continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to improve and articulating risks in a timely manner to appropriate parties
• Enabling automated testing at all levels of the test pyramid, including unit, integration and end-to-end tests before implementation
The skills you'll need
You'll have a proficiency in Java Front-End, Java Back-End and Java Full Stack programming languages for Middleware, applications, interfaces, services and platforms. You'll also have experience of developing and implementing deployment patterns, application tooling and industry-leading technologies.
As well as this, you'll have knowledge of how to support and guide your teams to engineer innovative and value-adding solutions, the Middleware layer and client-side development, including web services, core Java, ReactJS, JavaScript and CSS3. Full Stack development experience would be beneficial.
Furthermore, you’ll need:
• The ability to estimate the complexity of backlog items and good analytical skills
• Great communication skills and knowledge of Workflows, XML, HTML, XSLT and XPath to perform code reviews
• A proficiency in server-side development that uses SpringMVC, JSP, Java Beans, JPA, Server Side Enterprise Java, J2EE Servlets, Hibernate, Spring Boot, Postgres and Oracle RSBMS
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and NoSQL databases, like MySQL 5.1, SQL server and Couch DB
• An understanding of CI/CD toolsets and collaboration tools, like Jira and Sharepoint, and testing automation, like Selenium and debugging tools
