What You'll Do

DevOps is at the forefront of our operations, working collaboratively to support all our products. Over our decade-long journey on AWS, we have grown our workload from a handful of EC2 instances to a platform supporting hundreds of containerized workloads across multiple accounts and regions. As our newest DevOps Engineer you'll support multiple Dev teams in all things AWS. This will include everything from permission requests, maintenance and troubleshooting of AWS Infrastructure, to the delivery of apps and services that span multiple AWS Services, accounts, and regions. Eestablished, talented, friendly........the list goes on! This team is dedicated to supporting each other to achieve great results. We enjoy an excellent relationship with AWS Enterprise Support and have direct access to Technical Managers, Solutions Architects and Subject Matter Experts to make sure we are delivering the highest standard of infrastructure. Your day-to-day might look like this:

Actioning tickets assigned to you via JIRA. Examples of tickets include:
New Service Requests - Deploying new apps, sites, services (ECS, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront/S3, etc.) using custom in-house tools and CICD tools (TeamCity, CodePipeline) into multiple AWS accounts and Regions
Troubleshooting - Working together with developers to resolve permissions issues, network access issues, build and deployment errors, application level errors, etc
Incident response to Production incidents during business hours, escalating when needed
Involvement with DevOps team projects to improve existing architecture, enhance security and meet best practices
Creating and maintaining documentation of internal processes
Designing and implementing automations (preferably written in Python) to remove manual tasks and improve security
Investigating the latest DevOps best practices, services and tools
On-call rotation for service outages outside business hours (approximately 1 week in every 10)

Strong AWS Experience - 2+ years hands-on experience using AWS in a production environment
Experience with core AWS services such as: ECS, EC2, ASG, ALB, S3, VPC, IAM, Route 53, CloudFormation
Scripting/automation experience with PowerShell/Bash/Python
Associate level or higher AWS Certifications
Infrastructure as code experience
CI/CD experience: CodePipeline, TeamCity, etc
Understanding of VPC and networking concepts within AWS
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in an open and positive manner
A great attitude, with a passion for delivering excellent service and a readiness to pick up a task, no matter how big or small
A desire to continuously learn about new technologies and AWS services
