Job Summary:
As a Remote DevOps Release Manager with expertise in IBM iSeries and Microsoft Azure, you will oversee software products' efficient and successful release. To ensure seamless releases, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Development, Quality Assurance, and Operations. Your IBM iSeries and Azure proficiency will help you effectively manage and optimize our software release pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
• Release Planning: Work closely with development teams to plan and schedule software releases, taking into account dependencies, timelines, and business priorities, with a focus on IBM iSeries and Microsoft Azure environments.
• Release Coordination: Lead the coordination and execution of software releases, ensuring minimal disruption to IBM iSeries and Azure-based production environments.
• IBM iSeries Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems to manage releases effectively, including deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Azure Expertise: Leverage your Azure expertise to design and maintain Azure-based deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions.
• Version Control: Manage version control systems and ensure accurate versioning of code and artifacts across both IBM iSeries and Azure platforms.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to develop and implement release testing strategies that ensure the highest levels of software quality.
• Monitoring and Rollback: Implement monitoring and alerting systems specific to IBM iSeries and Azure environments to promptly detect and address post-release issues. Facilitate rollback procedures when necessary.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive release documentation tailored to IBM iSeries and Azure deployments, including release notes, deployment procedures, and post-release reports.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and improvements within the release management process, mainly focusing on IBM iSeries and Azure environments.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with software releases on IBM iSeries and Azure platforms.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a DevOps Release Manager, with a strong background in both IBM iSeries and Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices, such as CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Certifications in IBM iSeries or Microsoft Azure are a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
