DFS UI Designer
POSITION PURPOSE:
At Bayer Crop Science, we’re focused on finding innovative solutions for the big challenges we face in agriculture. We are focused on empowering farmers—large and small—to produce more from their land while conserving more of our world's natural resources such as water and energy.
The Digital Farming Solutions Team (DFS) functions like a fast-growing start-up within Bayer Crop Science in order to rapidly develop new business for tomorrow’s agriculture. We are a new hybrid tribe that combine design, strategy and technology, on a mission to accelerate the digital farming ecosystem across the APAC region to empower smallholder farmers.
The Business Design Team is built to help drive this innovation led by human-centered-design, and we are growing! Business design is a hybrid function that blends practices from several fields: HCD & service design, business innovation, product strategy, and product management. The role of the team is to apply customer-centric design methods to prototype, develop, and validate new business models. As a UI Designer, you will work across projects to create pixel-perfect prototypes for app features, web pages, and other touchpoints.
We believe in teamwork, memes, complex projects, and simple solutions. How about you? We’re looking for a like-minded UI Designer with ~2-3 years of experience with creating and implementing UI design, and a passsion to solve some of the biggest problems in the agriculture industry.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create overall concepts for the UI within a digital product, ensuring all interactions are intuitive and easy for users.
Design the aesthetics to be implemented within a website or product, from wireframing service flows to choosing colors and design details.
Work on designing innovative new services, such as chatbots, loyalty programmess and gamified interfaces.
Supports the development digital platforms to drive venture growth and innovation.
Be an advocate for customer-centricity to prevent the ‘business as usual’ mindset from hijacking innovation projects.
Build storyboards to conceptualize designs and convey project plans to clients and management
Get exposure & learning opportunity across all 3 domains of business design: HCD (personas, journey maps, UX), business innovation (business strategy, platforms, value chains), and transformation skills (facilitation, project management, co-creation).
Work regionally with colleagues across APAC.
WHO YOU ARE:
~2 years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing UI design, with a portfolio that showcases some of your best design projects. Demonstrating ability to use typography, layout, illustrations, color, and hierarchy.
Completed a design BA or MA program (e.g. Design Communication, UI Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Interaction Design, etc.) or with portfolio to show similar design ability.
Proficiency with interaction design software such as Figma and Adobe XD.
Proficiency with visual design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign.
An always-on interest in UI trends and the latest user-friendly interfaces
Highly collaborative to work with cross-functional teams, empathetic to customer needs, an excellent communicator, and ambitious to set a high standard for design excellence.
A strong interest to learn across the 3 domains of business design.
