We are looking for DGM Legal Compliance & Operations at Cairn.
Roles and responsibilities
• Litigations at various forums - State High Courts, District Courts, Labour Courts, Revenue Boards, Revenue Courts, MSEFC, NCLT, Electricity Commission etc.
• Issues related to law and order like FIR and criminal matters and other day to day operations issues.
• Interaction with various Government authorities like District Administration, questions from State Assembly etc and vetting and review of all the queries, clarifications, and letters to any authorities.
• Regulatory Authorities - interaction with and reviewing and vetting of correspondence to various external stakeholders, like DGMS, Labour Authorities (LEO, ALC, RLC, Dy CLC) and Electricity Authorities.
• Support CSR function in various aspects to ensure social license.
• Land related other issues like measurement of land, Land lease (short term/ long term), land purchase etc.
• Other properties leases (office premises etc.) and MOUs related to IT.
• Issues related to MSME Contractors or small contractors’ issues.
• COMPLIANCE - Managing statutory compliances of Oil and Gas Business, details as follows - Multiple sites in 07 states, 210 + Acts are applicable, More than 370 + users, Approx 13,400-line items.
• Conducting following audits - Third Party Audit, MAS Audit
• Also Supporting in other audits of Oil and Gas Business like V-SAP and OISD etc.
• Closely working with following departments on day-to-day bases: - Land, HR, Admin, CSR, Security, PSCM, Operations and IT
Desired Attributes:
• Law graduate with 12- 15 years of relevant experience, with an LL.B. degree from a reputed Indian university. Collaborative approach & excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in ensuring legal compliance within the oil and gas industry, including thorough knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal and operational risks associated with oil and gas operations, with a focus on proactive risk management strategies.
• Strong understanding of contract law and experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to oil and gas exploration, production, and distribution.
• Proven ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, government agencies, and industry partners, to address legal and operational matters.
