Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
Alice Springs, a city in the heart of Central Australia, is home to Autopia Tours, a family-run sightseeing bus tour business with a tight-knit team.
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team.
About the Role
This is a multifaceted role that requires adaptability and a willingness to tackle a variety of challenges. You will be responsible for maintaining the health and safety of our fleet of vehicles, including regular service and maintenance repairs, engine and transmission work, and ad hoc repairs as required.
You will also be responsible for updating records in our maintenance management system, ordering parts and consumables, and maintaining stock control.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular service and maintenance repairs on a bus fleet and trailers as required by regulation
Carry out appropriate safety inspections at required intervals
Perform engine and transmission work (usually service only)
Complete a large variety of ad hoc repairs as required
Update records in our maintenance management system
Order parts, consumables, and maintain stock control
Maintain the serviceability of camping equipment
Assist with operations crew on a daily basis
Requirements
Be an experienced qualified Diesel Mechanic
Have a driver's license and own reliable transport
Be able to work unsupervised or as part of a team
Be self-motivated
Have absolute attention to detail
Be flexible with working hours
