About Us

SS Truck Repair is a leading heavy vehicle specialist in Melbourne, dedicated to providing high-quality maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for a wide range of trucks and commercial vehicles. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our professional workshop team.

The Role

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of various heavy vehicle makes and models. You will work in a well-equipped facility with access to modern diagnostic tools.

Your responsibilities will include:

Performing routine logbook servicing and preventative maintenance.
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines.
Conducting inspections for Roadworthy Certificates (RWC) and safety compliance.
Repairing and replacing components including brakes, suspension, transmissions, and steering.
Utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex engine issues.
Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations.
About You

We are looking for a reliable team player who takes pride in their workmanship and has a "can-do" attitude.

Requirements:

Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
Experience: Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic on trucks and heavy vehicles.
Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
Licence: A valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
Attitude: A strong commitment to workshop safety and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
