As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our workshop team.
About the Role
We are looking for a trade-qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic to maintain, service, and repair our fleet of buses and coaches. Working from our Campbellfield depot, you will play a critical role in keeping our vehicles roadworthy, safe, and compliant — ensuring our passengers experience the reliable service we are known for.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults across engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other vehicle components
Dismantle major assemblies and sub-components for inspection, accurately assessing the condition of parts and determining appropriate repair or replacement action
Source and fit replacement parts, reassemble components to manufacturer specifications, and consult technical and service manuals throughout the process
Carry out scheduled maintenance programs including oil and fluid services, lubrications, and engine tune-ups to maximise vehicle reliability and meet environmental compliance standards
Conduct post-repair reassembly, testing, and fine-tuning of mechanical components to confirm correct operation and performance
Utilise computerised diagnostic tools and software to support fault detection and component testing
Perform pre-departure checks, roadworthiness inspections, and brake, suspension, and hydraulic system repairs
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant safety standards, regulations, and company procedures
Maintain thorough and accurate service and maintenance records for the fleet
Liaise with the operations team to prioritise repairs and minimise vehicle downtime
About You
Trade qualification in Diesel Motor Mechanics preferred
5 year+ experience working on heavy vehicles, buses, or coaches
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Solid understanding of diesel engines, auto-electrical systems, and hydraulics
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High attention to detail with a commitment to safety
Current driver's licence (heavy vehicle licence advantageous)
