Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Teach diesel technology coursework to junior and senior high school students
Provide hands-on instruction in areas such as diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance
Emphasize safety procedures, proper tool use, and industry best practices
Develop and implement lessons that connect technical skills to real-world applications and career pathways
Collaborate with administration, counselors, and CTE partners to support student career readiness
Maintain a safe, organized, and productive shop/lab environment
Track student progress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration
Qualifications
Valid Indiana teaching license or eligibility for licensure through a CTE/industry pathway preferred
Industry experience in diesel technology, heavy equipment, agricultural mechanics, or a related field strongly preferred
ASE certification or equivalent industry credentials preferred (but not required)
Experience working with secondary students or mentoring/apprenticeship experience preferred
Strong communication skills and a commitment to student safety and success
