Description:
This particular role is aimed towards field maintenance, suited for those who thrive on a challenge and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the successful applicant will be required to:
Perform planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on excavators
Diagnose and repair complex hydraulic, mechanical & electrical faults
Complete major component change-outs
Support and execute excavator rebuild and structural repair work
Work with planning to prioritise and schedule excavator maintenance
Monitor machine condition and identify emerging issues
Provide guidance and support to fitters on excavator-related work
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site/OEM requirements
Contribute to improving excavator reliability and reducing downtime
Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:
Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic Trade Certificate;
Ability to understand and interpret OEM manuals and hydraulic/ pneumatic;
Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Product knowledge of Caterpillar and Hitachi equipment;
Strong commitment to following health, safety and environment policies and procedures;
Excellent organisational and communication skills;
Air Conditioning Ticket advantageous;
Current National Police Clearance (No older than 6 months);
Current C class drivers licence essential.
