The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Editor to join SBS News in our newsroom on a part-time basis working shifts across a 7 day roster.
We care about reaching all Australians - with a strong mandate for news stories that support, celebrate and appreciate the diversity of Australia’s multicultural society.
In this role, you will:
Curate the SBS News home page, app, and other site sections
Cover breaking news, sending app alerts and operating live blogs
Use data and analytics tools to help inform editorial choices
Commission stories and guiding journalists to cover the most crucial stories of the day in the absence of the News Editor
Commission visually rich assets to complement stories, and bringing forward ideas for innovative coverage
Sub-edit copy, videos and social posts as and when necessary
