Overview:
The South Grey Chamber of Commerce is a member serving, community facing organization that supports business locally (Rural Ontario.)
Through the year we host several large cultural and unique community events that work to attract tourism to the rural municipal jurisdictions we serve in support of the greater business community.
The summer student employee will work as part of a team with the Office Administrator and the Event Coordination staff. The Summer Student will work to create marking materials (both in print and digital) related to tourism /event planning including photography. videography, digital ad creation. arid website editing.
The student will attend events that occur during their time with the organization and document the event through photos and video with guidance from the event committee and office team.
The Summer Student may be required to communicate with advertising companies on behalf of the organization and submit created marketing materials to the specs required by each advertising partner.
Events are often sponsored by companies, as part of that sponsorship. our organization will create specific advertising that focuses on this sponsor. The student will assist with this creation as well. and may be required to communicate with sponsors to do this.
Qualifications:
Extremely detailed oriented
Can take fragments of information and turn into a compelling story
Creative and resourceful
Proficient with email marketing software
Must have excellent grammatical skills
Comfortable working on Squarespace is a bonus!
Comfortable doing photography and video work
Comfortable working in Premium Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom is a bonus
Ability to work as a part of a team
Must a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Well-versed in basic digital marketing
Extremely comfortable writing copy for any necessary platforms (blogs, social media, emails, etc.) If you have a portfolio of past projects, we'd love to see them!
Must be a student attending school in the fall
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks
Pay: $17.50 per hour
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
