Job Description
Our Online Fundraising Engagement Specialist will support the fundraising team in a diverse role across lottery and philanthropy. Your Purpose will be to take ownership of the performance of our digital platforms, to imagine, design and then build experiences that maximise supporter contributions. You will show your technical knowledge, innovation and determination to create fundraising revenue growth, and optimise supporter experience in relationships whether that is a single transaction, or many years of support.

Key Tasks and responsibilities of the Online Fundraising Engagement Specialist role:

Online Engagement & Fundraising Growth will require around 50% of your focus. You will create a digital environment for the Surf Life Saving Foundation that builds a feeling of meaningful contribution for our supporters, and enables and encourages ongoing financial commitment, building loyalty and creating measurable growth in revenue. Your targeted engagement strategies and supporter journeys will ensure every online interaction contributes to long-term supporter relationships.

Specifically, you will:

1. Own the online experience for donors and lottery buyers, ensuring every touchpoint is optimised for a meaningful experience, creating retention and conversion.

2. Design and deliver campaign journeys that deliver on targets and deepen engagement.

3. Use insights and analysis to create and improve our supporter journeys online.

In addition, platform, CMS & payment optimisation will be around 30% of your focus. You will build and maintain scalable and secure online giving functions of core online platforms, including the CMS and payment systems. Your focus is on seamless supporter experiences across devices, removing friction and resolving technical issues swiftly. To do this you will:

1. Manage and continuously improve the CMS (Stack+) integration to digital platforms, delivering high performing fundraising experiences across web, mobile and microsites.

2. Optimise donation forms, ticketing flows and supporter interfaces to optimise completion rates.

3. Oversee and maintain secure, high performing payment systems in collaboration with the Technology and Finance teams.

Data, Insights & Compliance will require around 20% of your focus. You will use data to support improvement and innovation, drive smarter fundraising decisions, uncover opportunities, and lift performance. You will ensure online activity is compliant with privacy, fundraising, and lottery regulations, protecting supporter trust and platform integrity. To do this you will:

1. Design and build online reporting using GA4 and business analytics.

2. Support your innovation with data to identify and realise opportunities. You will create clever outcomes, supported by fact.

3. Ensure we meet all privacy laws, fundraising codes, and lottery compliance regulations.

Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following selection criteria:

1) Qualifications:

Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in fundraising, marketing, or related disciplines
3–5 years’ experience in a fundraising-focused role with a strong emphasis on online engagement and platform optimisation
Demonstrated ability to use CMS systems (Stack+ desirable), online giving platforms, and CX tools to drive acquisition and retention


2) Knowledge and Experience:

Expertise in CMS management (Stack+ desirable) and experience with online fundraising platforms.
Knowledge of payment systems and security best practices for online donations and charitable lotteries.
Understanding of fundraising compliance and privacy regulations related to online systems.
Ability to leverage data and analytics to enhance fundraising strategies and improve overall revenue outcomes
Experience driving measurable fundraising outcomes through online engagement and platform optimisation.
Strong knowledge of GA4 and analytics tools, with experience translating insights into outcomes
3) Skills and Attributes:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience in the non-profit, community services, or charity lottery space highly regarded
