Job Description

Metric have partnered with a well-established US semiconductor organization who are a leading supplier of mixed-signal ICs for consumer electronic and automotive applications.

Their pioneering Research & Development Team are seeking to hire a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Expert with a strong track record of taking projects from concept to production. This will be a broad hands-on role developing digital signal processing algorithms for a wide range of applications including audio & battery management systems, which will afford the successful candidate the opportunity to realize their research in production.

You’ll engage in rapid prototyping, proof-of-concept experimentation, and hands-on lab work, developing systems and algorithms for real-time DSP processors (fixed- and floating-point) across domains including audio, acoustics, and power systems.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on both independent projects and collaborative environments, with a proven ability to innovate through publications, patents, or commercial designs.

Responsibilities
• Lead system and algorithm design from concept to production.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and collect data to validate new DSP approaches.
• Develop and implement MATLAB simulations and C-based algorithms.
• Define functional requirements and design prototype systems aligned with high-level engineering or marketing goals.
• Prepare technical reports, deliver presentations, and collaborate with patent attorneys to protect innovative technologies.

Requirements
• Master's Degree (minimum) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field with 7+ years of experience.
• Proven experience taking DSP projects from concept to production (minimum 1 project taken end-to-end into production)
• Track record of IP generation through patents, publications, or commercial products.
• Strong experience in MATLAB and C; Python is a plus.
• Hands-on experience building prototype systems and conducting lab experiments.
