This position is for Danaher’s PID Digital team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore
IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 700+ associates for multiple Danaher operating companies. The operating companies includes PID Digital, Beckman Coulter, Beckman Coulter Lifesciences, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Hach, Leica Microsystems, IDBS, SCIEX, HemoCue, Videojet, SCIEX, IDBS and Cepheid.
The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of groundbreaking products. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
The inhouse teams works in close coordination with global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120K sqft.

As a Software Developer for Data & Analytics Platform (Cloud Engineer), you will join a team of skilled software engineers to drive Danaher’s Digital transformative initiatives in IoT, Data and Analytics (Machine Learning) platforms targeted at multiple market segments. You will be responsible for designing and implementing highly scalable, distributed, reliable cloud-native systems that will serve as the backbone of Danaher’s digital platforms. You will apply your knowledge and proficiency in architecting and coding software components that run on AWS (preferred) or Azure IaaS or PaaS infrastructure. You will work on Event driven systems that interact with back-end databases and other services. You will be called upon to solve complex analytical problems independently as well as with your team members. You will work with a globally distributed Agile team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable backend cloud microservices based on highly scalable distributed systems.
• Work with SW architects to understand the problem domain and produce creative solutions for new services.
• Design and implement backend microservices based on AWS and/or Azure cloud components.
• Create unit tests for software components and ensure adequate coverage is provided.
• Interact with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver high quality products and services that meet/exceed business customer, and technical requirements.
• Share code and design reviews with agile team
• Integrate 3rd party software components into existing software applications
Work with geographically distributed teams while maintaining highest standards in collaboration and communication.
Requirements
Must have:
• Overall 5-8 years of IT experience.
• 4+ years of experience in application development using Java/J2EE
• Strong knowledge of Java SpringBoot Microservices, Hibernate /JDBC /JPA, JSON
• Knowledge of Web API implementations (Web services, RESTful services) is necessary
• Proven prior hands-on experience (4+ years) in developing Cloud Native solutions using AWS Cloud services, SQL, NoSQL.
• Strong knowledge on Database scripting and data modelling.
• Knowledge of design of event driven architectures
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand requirements and convert them to optimized technical solutions
• Knowledge on Apache Kafka
• Knowledge of design of event driven architectures.
• Knowledge on Unit testing frameworks JNUnits.
• Knowledge on Serverless Lambda.
• Knowledge on containerization (e.g: Docker, Kubernetes )
• Strong Knowledge building highly robust, scalable, multi-tenant, fault tolerant Systems.
• Strong knowledge & experience building observability for Applications and Infrastructure.
• Experience working with Multi cloud/ region solutions.
Preferred to Have:
• Spark Streaming or Flink
• Infrastructure as code experience
• Knowledge on Time series DBs
• Knowledge of message queue protocols like MQTT, AMQP.
• Knowledge on CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins
