SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 7AM - 7PM
Below are the minimum requirements
Minimum Skills:
Must be able to obtain medical scrubs
Direct care workers must be at least 18 years of age; qualified through education or experience; and possess, or develop before providing services, or the skills necessary to meet the needs of the recipient population.
CPR and First aid (can be completed after hiring)
Required education and alternatives to formal education; high school or general education development (GED) diploma
Demonstration to the program administrator of the ability to read written instruction and to make appropriate entries regarding services in the recipients record file.

Job purpose
A direct care worker aids and cares to the developmentally disabled. The qualities of a direct care worker involves patience, empathy, strong interpersonal skills. A direct care worker provides a number of services depending on the needs of the individual; these might include running errands, choosing meal plans, assisting individuals on independent living skills, and assistance administering prescribed medication.
Duties and responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities for a Direct Care Worker at HALF are as follows
Prompt or Assists individuals in dressing, bathing, and completing basic hygiene task, dependent on the individuals needs.
Oversee, document or monitor physician orders
Ensure that individuals take their prescribed medications
Assist individual with meals prep that adhere to any special dietary needs to the degree needed
Assist with cleaning and house work
Teach developmentally disabled adults how to adopt basic independent living skills:
Cooking
Cleaning
Laundry
Help adults with developmental disorders shop within their budget and complete basic household task
Work with disabled adults with basic school functions and providing support during daily activities
Ensure that the clients are reaching their goals as outlined in the Support Plan
Assist clients finding transportation to work, doctor appointments, grocery store, and other necessary locations.
Serve as a companion to all clients
Organize and help clients choose and attend activates in the community
Properly document on clients in Therap
Document client medication in Therap
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for a Direct Care Worker for HALF are as follows
Qualifications include:
CPR & first aid certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to pass a through background check by the State of Alaska

Physical requirements
The incumbent may sit or be on feet for long periods of time. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.

Pay: $37,440.00 - $52,000.00 per year
