About Banking
We offer comprehensive financial advisory, capital raising, financing and risk management services for corporations, governments and financial institutions worldwide. Our Banking teams are at the heart of our origination-led Investment Banking strategy.
Overall purpose of role
Plays a key role in identifying and covering potential clients in India including client visits for deals or proposals; take up coverage and content ownership for selected verticals; master all the aspects of executing a transaction and creating new business opportunities. Supervising junior bankers, including but not limited to sector specific themes, overview of potential opportunities and execution related tasks.
Key Accountabilities
As an Investment Banking Director, you are expected to execute a variety of roles such as
• Establish a client coverage base and regularly meet with clients to discuss general sector themes, specific opportunities or executing mandates
• Generate origination leads
• Monitor developments/trends in the sub-verticals
• Contribute toward the origination and execution of deal mandates
• Liaise in particular with product colleagues across the Bank and with external sector specialists
• Identify and capture profitable business opportunities
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
• Post graduate degree
• Relevant experience in a similar role
• Team work and project management skills
