About the role

The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) promotes and protects the rights of adults with decision-making disabilities to reduce their risk of neglect, exploitation and abuse through the provision of its statutory services in accordance with the functions of the Public Advocate under the Guardianship and Administration Act 1990.

The Director Corporate Support has recently been created to provide strategic leadership of OPA’s Business Services. It operates in an environment of competing priorities and constant adjustment to support the increasing demands on OPA’s service delivery to vulnerable people, as well as managing changes to business services, particularly with the current transition to a new IT case management system.

The Director Corporate Support will drive efficient and effective management of OPA’s human resources, financial services, information technology and knowledge management services. This includes the provision of advice, reports and recommendations to support OPA’s service delivery requirements, in collaboration with the Department’s Corporate Services and other Divisions, other government agencies, IT vendor and other external stakeholders.

It is desirable for the successful applicant to have a relevant tertiary qualification in a business related field.

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
