MAIN SCOPE AND PURPOSE:
The Director of Finance will manage the Finance, Purchasing and IT functions of the hotel to ensure accurate management and financial accounts are produced consistently within company policies and timetables. Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Regional Director of Finance, the primary purpose is to deliver commercial business objectives and financial targets through effective leadership. The Director of Finance will be responsible for the efficient running of their departments through review, evaluation, planning and instigating of appropriate action for the hotel to achieve its sales, costs and profitability targets and managing the accounting function up to trial balance function
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The maintenance of all ledgers, journals and other accounting records of the hotel
• The preparation and interpretation of monthly and yearly financial statements and annual budget plan as per group requirements
• The maintenance of all budgetary control procedures
• Ensure compliance with UK VAT, Inland Revenue and other related statutory obligations
• Implement internal audit recommendations and controls in conjunction with the external audit process
• Produce high quality, accurate, timely and relevant information including the following; monthly financial statements, information requested by owning company, internal daily reports, trend analysis, Payroll and Expense Analysis and exception and bridge reporting
• The recording, maintenance and safekeeping of all subsidiary records in connection with inventories, fixed assets, contracts, insurances, leases and other legal and financial records
• Oversight of monthly physical inventories of food, beverage, materials and supplies and at least semi annual physical inventories of operating equipment
• Administration of all banking procedures
• Prepare quarterly re-charges to tenants
• Approval and verification of all allowances, petty cash, paid outs, bank deposits and receipts
• Approval of requisitions and Purchase Orders
• Ascertaining that all the hotel receipts are correctly and efficiently deposited in the bank on the next working day
• Supervision and control of all the hotel’s assets
• Control of all credit procedures in conjunction with the Regional Director of Finance
• In Conjunction with Credit Manager, hold monthly PM and Credit meetings
• Examine and supervise control of the hotel’s payroll procedures and review monthly payroll submission
• Ensure contracts are maintained and reviewed pre renewal dates
• Liaison with internal and external auditors
• Supervise and oversee Purchasing and IT Departments, line management of Director of Purchasing and IT Manager and their teams
• On a regular basis to review and appraise the team within the accounts department so as to ensure there is succession planning and training and development plans in place.
