The candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain, production, and distribution functions
The Director of Operations will report to Company leadership and will work strategically with other functional leads in the organization, including Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Accounting / Finance and Production (based in Hong Kong)
Management of key operational initiatives is as critical as the ability to think and act strategically in the best interest of the Company
This role must direct all operational activities to ensure that business objectives are met efficiently and effectively
Risks will need to be identified and managed effectively by implementing measures to mitigate potential threats
Operational Strategy: with the assistance of the existing operations team (currently consisting of 4 direct reports and 20+ indirect reports), develop and implement operational strategies with policies that drive growth and align with Company short- and long-term goals
Supply Chain Management: oversee the end-to-end supply chain processes, including:
Demand planning – assist the existing Demand Planner in capturing accurate demand signals from market sell-through
Production and logistics – work in close coordination with a team in Hong Kong to ensure supply matches demand both in our Bolingbrook, IL facility and European-based 3PL
Warehousing and distribution – oversee inbound and outbound product flow, inventory management and warehouse logistics to ensure customer orders are supplied on time and in full
Develop and implement policies that ensure inventory accuracy in the warehouse
Process Improvement: identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resource allocation
Cross-Functional Collaboration: work closely with other functions, particularly Sales, Product Development, Production and Marketing, to ensure Company-wide alignment on key objectives and to facilitate smooth operations in pursuit of those objectives
Performance Metrics: establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational performance and make data-driven decisions
Team Leadership: lead, mentor, motivate and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation
Budget Management: develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to meet operational goals
Operational Safety: adhere to all occupational, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures to ensure safe and healthy working environments

Desired Experience + Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in operations management within the CPG industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of supply chain logistics, operational processes, and quality control
• Previous utilization of a robust ERP system and corresponding Warehouse Management Systems, including system implementation and upgrades
• Proven ability to drive operational efficiencies and implement process improvements
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset to develop and monitor performance/operation metrics
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
• Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to navigate complex operational challenges
• Must be familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and policies
