THE IMPACT OF THIS ROLE

As Director of Rooms, you will lead our Rooms Division — including Front Office, Housekeeping, Security, and Sense Spa — ensuring every guest experience reflects the Rosewood brand’s commitment to intuitive service, memorable storytelling, and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


o Lead and inspire all Rooms Division departments to deliver exceptional service aligned with Rosewood standards, ensuring every guest touchpoint creates meaningful and memorable experiences.

o Drive departmental performance through strategic leadership, daily engagement, and the development of high-performing teams; oversee hiring, training, and performance management.

o Maintain operational oversight of Front Office, Housekeeping, Spa, Security, Laundry, Valet, and Concierge to ensure consistent execution of brand and service standards.

o Champion guest satisfaction by responding to feedback and leading proactive initiatives that elevate the overall experience.

o Develop and execute action plans to achieve service excellence, quality standards, and Forbes targets across all guest-facing departments.

o Oversee departmental budgets, labour management, payroll, and purchasing in line with financial targets and business forecasts.

o Facilitate the Rosewood Daily Calling Review and departmental briefings to ensure communication, coordination, and focus on guest priorities.

o Monitor compliance with company policies, health & safety, cash handling, and security procedures.

o Collaborate with Engineering to ensure efficient room inventory management, including Out of Service and Out of Order rooms.

o Lead the Rooms team in maintaining a strong culture of Relationship Hospitality, one built on motivation, accountability, teamwork, and care.

o Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all guest and internal matters.

o Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Managing Director.

CRITICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

o Minimum five years hotel experience with five years management experience in a similar role. Luxury or ultra-luxury experience is preferred.

o Minimum five years’ experience driving service standards in compliance with Forbes Travel Guide and LQA standards with proven results.

o Bachelor's degree in hospitality, hotel management, business or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work-related experience.

o Previous experience with rooms division forecast and budgets.

o Proficient use of Microsoft suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and Opera

o Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, written and verbal, particularly the ability to correspond to guest complaints (in person and in written format)

o You will demonstrate the highest level of hospitality and professionalism in order to motivate the team to achieve the highest standards possible.

o This role will require an exceptional level of attention to detail, excellent written and spoken English and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and preferably experience of leading a large team and multiple departmental managers.

o Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.

o Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other associates and departments.

o Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

o Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation.
