As the Director of Sales and Marketing for our pre-opening hotel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the commercial strategy that drives the hotel’s success from day one. This high-profile leadership position involves overseeing all aspects of sales, marketing, and revenue management to establish the hotel’s market presence and achieve revenue targets.
Merlis Coimbatore is an elegant new luxury hotel set amidst 4 acres of serene landscapes, ideally located just 2 kilometers from Coimbatore International Airport. The hotel features 142 meticulously designed rooms, including five premium dining outlets, and an array of world-class facilities, including two grand ballrooms, a spacious banquet lawn, six well equipped meeting rooms. For relaxation and wellness, guests can enjoy a state-of-the-art health club featuring a spa, gym, and swimming pool. Designed with versatility in mind, Merlis Coimbatore is the perfect destination for corporate MICE functions, large weddings, and distinctive residential-style gatherings, that promise an unforgettable experience for every guest.
Duties and Responsibilities
Pre-Opening Planning and Strategy
Develop and execute the pre-opening sales and marketing strategy, aligned with the hotel’s brand positioning and business goals.
Conduct market research to identify target markets, competitor offerings, and emerging trends in the hospitality industry.
Create and implement pricing strategies, distribution plans, and promotional campaigns to attract guests and drive bookings.
Establish sales goals and revenue targets for the pre-opening phase and beyond.
Sales Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing sales team, providing training, mentoring, and performance management.
Develop and manage relationships with key accounts, corporate clients, travel agents, and event planners to secure business.
Oversee the development of group, corporate, and leisure sales strategies to maximize revenue across all segments.
Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the property.
Marketing and Branding
Develop and execute the hotel’s marketing plan, including digital marketing, social media, and traditional advertising.
Collaborate with the design team to create compelling promotional materials, including brochures, videos, and online content.
Ensure the hotel’s branding is consistent across all channels, reflecting its unique identity and target audience.
Work with PR agencies to manage media relations and secure coverage in key markets.
Revenue and Distribution Management
Work closely with the revenue management team to optimize pricing, distribution channels, and inventory.
Monitor and analyze market trends, booking patterns, and guest preferences to adjust strategies accordingly.
Maximize the hotel’s online visibility by managing relationships with OTAs, GDS platforms, and other distribution partners.
Budget and Financial Oversight
Prepare and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve revenue goals.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR).
Present regular updates to the hotel’s leadership team on sales performance, marketing campaigns, and ROI.
Pre-Opening Coordination
Collaborate with the operations team to align sales and marketing efforts with the hotel’s operational readiness.
Ensure all pre-opening timelines are met, including the launch of the hotel’s website, booking platforms, and marketing campaigns.
Support the recruitment and training of the sales and marketing team to ensure readiness for the hotel opening.
