Overview
The Director of Quality Assurance for Infor MES will define and lead the global QA strategy, fostering a culture of built-in quality. This role will lead a distributed QA team to ensure Infor MES meets exceptional standards of reliability, functionality, and performance, addressing complex manufacturing demands. This includes involvement in product specifications, release processes, and product documentation. This requires strategic QA expertise, strong MES/manufacturing domain knowledge, and the ability to drive transformative quality practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic QA Leadership: Develop and execute a forward-thinking QA roadmap for Infor MES. Champion modern QA paradigms (holistic testing, shift-left, Quality Assistance), define meaningful quality KPIs, and actively contribute to product specification requirements to ensure testability and quality from inception.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a global QA team, fostering collaboration and defining clear career paths.
• QA Operations Excellence: Oversee all QA activities (functional, integration, performance, security, usability) and manage MES release processes, ensuring quality gates are met. Drive a pragmatic test automation strategy, implement risk-based testing, and ensure comprehensive coverage of core MES functionalities. Manage test data, environments, and the defect lifecycle.
• Product & Process Improvement: Collaborate with Product and Development to integrate quality into the SDLC, improve testability, and advocate for the end-user experience. Drive continuous improvement in QA and development processes. Oversee the quality, accuracy, and completeness of product documentation.
• Stakeholder Management: Communicate quality status, risks, and plans to leadership. Collaborate with Support and Professional Services to address customer feedback and deployment challenges.
Basic Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Crucial Experience:
○Significant experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES); deep understanding of MES concepts, functionalities, and the manufacturing domain is essential. Infor MES experience highly preferred.
○Proven track record in developing and implementing successful QA strategies in Agile/DevOps, including involvement in release management and product requirements definition.
○Extensive experience leading test automation initiatives (framework design, tool selection like Selenium, Playwright, Postman, JMeter).
○Experience with product documentation processes and ensuring documentation quality.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of various testing types (functional, non-functional, API, UI, E2E), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and database technologies.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills (global teams). Strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and strong communication/interpersonal skills. Customer-centric with a passion for quality.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advocates for comprehensive testing beyond basic checks.
• Focuses on strategic automation with clear ROI.
• Embeds quality throughout the development lifecycle, including documentation.
• Uses data to reflect true product quality and business value.
• Deeply understands the MES domain and customer impact.
