Director of Risk, Compliance and Audit - Chief Risk Officer

As the Director of Risk, Compliance and Audit you are responsible for leading functions that provide expert advice, develop and deliver on strategy, embed frameworks and deliver on work programmes in these key areas.

You will build external relationships to advance RBNZs strategic objectives and continuously improve risk management, compliance, business resilience and audit practices.

This is a role which spans across the organisation, influencing at a high level and being a trusted source of information and recommendations.

You will;

Lead the risk, compliance, resilience and audit functions of the organisation and act as the Chief Risk Officer.
Contribute to policy setting, risk management and monitoring, and embed a culture that creates compliance as an organisational standard.
Oversee engagement with business units to establish, maintain and improve capability and manage activities related to risk, compliance, resilience and audit.
Provide strategic guidance and direction to ensure work programmes are well defined and support by the Executive Leadership Team

You will be both adaptable and strategic in your thinking and are able to lead both functionally and strategically to ensure shared success. You can understand how strategic goals translate into actionable plans and are able to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in order to do this.

In addition to this you will;

Be able to command the attention of external stakeholders and confident in your ability to test the views of senior leaders.
Have demonstrable experience in a comparable role, preferably within the banking or financial services environment.
Possess relationship management experience to build, develop and maintain high performing teams
Be an adaptable, flexible and intuitive leader with a track record of leading high performing, strongly engaged teams.
Strong communication skills, with a collaborative style and an ability to be objective with setting workplans and priorities.
This is a critical role that ultimately commands excellent leadership credentials, innovation, integrity and inclusiveness.
