The Director, Senior Litigation Counsel reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Litigation and Ethics & Compliance and is a key member of H.B. Fuller’s dynamic global legal team. This role partners closely with internal business stakeholders and outside counsel to oversee a wide range of disputes and investigations, ensuring strategic alignment and risk mitigation across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage and oversee global litigation, including mass torts, product liability, commercial disputes, and EHS matters

Develop and implement litigation and/or settlement strategies, including outside counsel selection and budget management

Lead privileged internal investigations and liaise with law enforcement as appropriate

Oversee discovery processes, including interviews, witness preparation, and coordination with internal teams

Train legal and business colleagues on claims management best practices

Supervise and mentor litigation paralegals

Standardize litigation processes including legal hold, eDiscovery, and matter management

Provide strategic recommendations to evolve the litigation and investigations program

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment with business goals and legal compliance

Prepare executive-level reports and updates on litigation matters

Minimum Requirements

Juris Doctor or equivalent from an accredited institution

Licensed to practice law in Minnesota (or eligible to waive in)

Minimum 10 years of litigation experience in a law firm or in-house legal department

Experience managing internal and/or government investigations

Demonstrated proficiency in key competencies: innovation, accountability, performance excellence, change and risk-taking, customer focus, and teamwork

Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Requirements

Experience managing and developing legal teams

Proven success managing outside counsel and litigation budgets

Strong understanding of eDiscovery workflows and service provider management

Experience recovering insurance for claims and litigation

Ability to advise business partners on legal strategies aligned with business needs

Strategic thinker with ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify complex legal topics

Collaborative team player with a client-focused mindset

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $160,000 - $200,000. This position is also eligible for Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP) and Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) participation.
