Details: The Social Services Regulation (SSR) branch is looking for a Director who wants to make a difference and assist the Office of the Social Services Registrar deliver great regulatory outcomes for our community. The Office seeks to manage risk to vulnerable members of the community and the Directorate, and to build the capacity of service providers, including those within HCSD, through partnership, education, and regulation, to ensure quality outcomes for service users.

The Office of the Social Services Registrar, within the branch, provides a critical quality assurance and oversight function for a significant proportion of the ACT community services sector; with a focus on engagement to achieve quality improvement and reduction of risk.

The Director, SSR manages a team responsible for delivering the functions of the Office of the Social Services Registrar, including regulatory complaints management.

The role provides operational leadership to the team as well as supporting the Senior Director, and Registrar to shape the regulatory program delivered by the Directorate and to incorporate a strategic policy focus in the development and implementation of branch and Social Services Registrar programs.

The SSR branch sits under Corporate and Governance and is operationally independent from other funding and service provision areas within the Health and Community Services Directorate.
