Job Description
We are looking for Director in Software Engineering to join our technology team at Clarivate. The role involves supporting and managing the delivery needs of Clarivate’s IP Group Technology teams, by helping define and deliver the Continuous Improvement opportunities and best in practice software development processes.
The successful candidate needs to be from a software development background with have a strong delivery focus supported by demonstrable platform scale software delivery of consumer facing applications built and delivered using cloud native principles. The role reports into the Head of IPMS Technology.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
• Bachelor /Master degree in computer science or other related discipline with 15+ years of experience in technical management role. Strong technical background is mandatory for this role.
• Experience in developing and delivering highly available and scalable micro service-based architectures in the cloud environment.
• Deep understanding of software product development – a successful track record of leading the successful delivery of projects using agile techniques.
• Experienced in effectively facilitating retrospectives, brainstorming, iteration planning meetings and daily stand-ups.
• Team player to be able to support the Technology Leadership team to drive technology strategy, through Continuous Improvement.
It would be great if you also had . . .
• Strong experience working with Java, TypeScript (Node development), .NET or Python.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins.
• Exposure to Docker, and Linux is a plus.
What will you be doing in this role?
• You will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the agile delivery teams, within agreed budget, quality and schedule requirements.
• Representing the regional challenges and needs within IP Technology function and help teams to resolve delivery related or technical issues, through complete transparency.
• Working with product owners, agile delivery teams, quality team, DevOps team at both technical and non-technical level to ensure a consistent and maintainable delivery process.
• Helping to define the technology stack of choice, including understanding which cloud solutions provide best choice for specific products. Closely interact with central architecture teams to adhere to governance, tech choices and other toolset optimization possibilities.
• Provide data supported input/s to the appropriate stakeholders on recommended product improvements, service assurance, delivery and operational procedures or performance issues based on feedback and observations from the local team.

Hours of Work
This is permanent position with Clarivate. You will be working in IST time zone, + hours per day including lunch break.
