Job Summary
Coordinate local P&D traffic for Overland West Freight Lines Ltd.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday; 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Essential Functions:
As part of the operations team, establish, modify and execute daily dispatch plan
Update trip sheets & records in the dispatch system, ensuring the accuracy of miles paid and log hours
Day to day communication with drivers to ensure proper load instructions are passed along and carried out
Appointment calling for deliveries
Monitor driver performance
What a successful candidate will bring:
Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to professionally deal with drivers, customers, warehouse staff, and management inn a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills, planning skills, and multitasking ability with attention to detail to manage freight documentation, data entry and time-sensitive updates accurately
Basic knowledge of transportation, freight logistics, and dispatch operations, including scheduling pick ups, deliveries, and coordinating equipment and drivers
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required (Word, Excel, Outlook)
AS400 or other Transportation Management Systems knowledge an asset
Compensation & Benefits
$25.00/hr to start
Comprehensive benefits package available after successful completion of probationary period including extended medical, prescription, vision and dental coverage and RPP company matching program
