Responsibilities:
- You will build and ship software at scale to deliver impact
- You will actively improve the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn by developing best practices and defining best strategies.
- You will proactively solve for org dynamic issues to ensure effectiveness of overall Engineering.
- You will develop strategies and long term priorities across Engineering.
- You will establish a culture that values diverse viewpoints while navigating complex decisions.
- You will define the bar for quality and efficiency of software systems while balancing business impact, operational impact and cost benefits of design and architectural choices.
- You will act as the primary domain expert to influence technology choices.
- You will lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience
- 15+ years of industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS and 15+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 12+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD and 12+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in designing and implementing technologies for highly distributed platforms.
- Familiarity with working on payments and ecommerce platforms.
- Experience leading high-impact, cross-organization initiatives.
- Experience working cross-functionally, influencing the goals and strategies of overall org, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to strike a balance between strategy and enabling teams to deliver platforms with technical direction.
