Duties
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to increase market share within your territory, focusing on B2B (business-to-business) sales of metal building products.
Identify new business opportunities through proactive lead generation, cold calling, networking events, and industry marketing initiatives.
Manage key accounts by providing tailored solutions, conducting product demos, and upselling additional services or products to existing clients.
Oversee territory activities including analysis of market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to optimize sales routes and efforts.
Utilize CRM software such as Salesforce for tracking leads, managing customer relationships, and analyzing sales data to inform strategic decisions.
Conduct regular territory reviews and analysis to identify areas for growth and improvement; prepare detailed reports for senior management.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that support long-term relationships.
Coordinate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns that enhance brand visibility and generate new leads.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and resolving issues efficiently to foster loyalty.
Requirements
Proven experience in outside sales or management roles within the construction materials or technology sales sectors, preferably with B2B focus on metal buildings or related industries.
Strong background in business development, account management, and territory management with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to conduct compelling product demos and presentations.
Proficiency with CRM software such as Salesforce or similar platforms for lead tracking and customer relationship management.
Demonstrated ability in cold calling, lead generation, inside/outside sales strategies, and direct sales techniques.
Strong analytical skills for market analysis, competitor assessment, and sales performance evaluation.
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on building long-term client relationships through effective communication.
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a high level of motivation and enthusiasm.
Knowledge of retail or construction industry trends is a plus; technical knowledge related to metal building products is advantageous but not mandatory. Compensation is a base salary plus 1% of gross steel sales. This is a high earnout potential for the role and the sales expectations are to close $10M+ in new business.
