Job Overview : The job is a data science role that entails designing and implementing data driven analytical solutions that assist in enhancing the Bank’s credit management and underwriting.
Business Unit Overview : The CRAIN unit resides within the credit unit of the Bank and is a dedicated data science and analytics unit whose mandate is to work closely with business units across the Bank to leverage data and modelling techniques to enable digitisation and scientific decision making.
Job Responsibilities:
1.)Development and deployment of creative inhouse analytical solutions and algorithms focused on strengthening and digitisation of the Bank’s underwriting process across loan portfolios.
2.)Identification and evaluation of third party (vendor) solutions and data sources that can be used by the Bank towards making credit processes stronger and leaner.
3.)Working closely with credit policy and product units to critically examine extant processes across loan products, identify gaps in the eco-system and assist solutioning.
4.)Working closely with credit bureaus to maximise value derived in underwriting from bureau data, including development of analytical solutions using bureau data.
Job Specification:
1.)Educational qualification – MBA (or equivalent post graduate degree). Graduates only if in the field of data science (or related) or relevant work experience (below) of at least 1 year.
2.)Between 1 to 4 years of experience in fields related to data science, credit risk or analytics.
3.)At least 1-year hands-on experience in Python scripting.
4.)Good communication skills, willingness to proactively engage with stakeholders, creativity in problem solving and critical thinking are essential to succeed in the role.
