Job Description
Duties include but are not limited to:
Service guests using watercraft, provide bait, process/filet fish
Clean and prepare boats for guest use
Maintain dock and watercraft
Unload and load guests' luggage and gear
Shore lunch Preparation
Guide Service based on ability
General Maintenance of outboards and small engines
Advise guests on fishing, nature, and wildlife viewing
Other resort duties as required including outdoor maintenance & carpentry
Record keeping skills for sale/purchase of bait and receipt of goods at the dock
Knowledge of flora/fauna an asset for guest education
Qualifications:
Familiarity with small outboard motors and small engines and mechanics is an asset
Interested and enthusiastic about nature and outdoors
Interest, knowledge and enthusiasm for fishing, especially Pickerel (Walleye), Northern Pike, Perch & Whitefish. Dock duties include fish processing, giving advice to guests and the resort offers guiding to guests which may become part of the applicant's job based on ability.
Must be able to work well within a team setting.
Must be able to work efficiently and multi-task
Ability to live in a remote setting
Good communication and interpersonal skills with co-workers and guests
Must have a keen interest in this type of employment. Our staff acts as ambassadors for the resort to ensure a memorable and exceptional vacation for our guests, which in turn promotes return visits to the resort. The dockhand position allows for the greatest exposure to meet the majority of guests
