Document Control Specialist in Houston, TX
• $18.50/hr. - $19.50/hr.
• Contract role with hybrid work arrangement (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in office, Wednesday and Friday from home)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to support technical drawing management for assets across Operations & Maintenance, Capital Projects, and Management of Change initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of engineering documentation within an Electronic Document Management System.
In this position, you'll be at the center of coordination-working with internal teams, external consultants, and drafting groups to manage technical drawings and maintain high data quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate, track, distribute, and archive technical drawings and documentation using an EDM system (Meridian)
• Manage drawing requests and issue packages for O&M, capital, and core project work
• Ensure data integrity and metadata quality within the document management system
• Identify and resolve data quality or process-related issues
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing reports and summaries
• Support consultants and internal teams with drawing standards, procedures, and requirements
• Contribute to the development and improvement of document control processes and standards
• Collaborate with drafting teams and other analysts to maintain consistency and accuracy
• Assist with construction and as-built drawing coordination for EPC projects
What You Bring:
• Related Technology Diploma or equivalent combination of certification and 0-3 years of experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred)
• Experience with Meridian or similar document management systems (a plus)
• Strong organizational and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment
• Ability to solve technical and analytical problems with minimal supervision
• A self-driven, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
