Saunders’ growth strategy and awarded project portfolio means we are currently seeking an experienced Drawing Office Manager to join our team at either our head office in Rhodes, Sydney or Brisbane, QLD.
You will be responsible for helping shape the expanding and dynamic Design and Drafting Team. As a part of a booming industry, and in conjunction with our overall business strategy, we are wanting to talk with experienced and collaborative individuals to drive innovation and excellence amongst our execution teams and clients.
Responsibilities Include
Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of CAD technical standards and workflows.
Progressively monitoring the production of design and workshop fabrication drawings, coordinating with other trade documents and overseeing design change requirements.
Leading and managing a team of design draftsperson(s), providing technical oversight, and mentorship.
Recruitment of design drafting resources as required by project pipelines
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop engineering solutions that deliver value to customers.
Providing technical oversight and checking of drafting deliverables.
Carrying out project 2D and 3D CAD design work as part of an integral team, adhering to technical and commercial standards.
Preparing 3D models, detail engineering & fabrication drawings, together with an accompanying Bill of Materials (BOM)
Supporting other sectors of the business on project activities ranging from feasibility to detailed CAD design.
Liaising with clients and customers to ensure a developed understanding of the project
Liaising with fabrication teams to ensure the project is to specifications
Co-ordinating/Self-performing the update, redesign and redraft as required.
About You

Ability to manage the drafting team and the evolving documentation, whilst working closely with the engineering and operations management teams to ensure that the documentation allows for the successful delivery of the construction works.
An exemplary understanding of design drafting workflows and processes.
The ability to prepare 3D layouts, arrangements, and detailed drawings, utilising analytical and problem-solving skills.
Prior exposure to industrial and petrochemical environments or relevant experience gained within an engineering consultancy would be considered advantageous.
Familiarity with the relevant Australian and International Standards.
Ability to work efficiently, effectively and to deadlines.
Essential Qualities
15+ years’ experience in AutoCAD/Plant3D, or related engineering 3D design software.
Experience in SMP engineering design within heavy brownfield industries, preferably oil and gas.
Experience in Microsoft office applications.
