Telecon is looking for a Directional Drill Locator to join our growing team. This role is based out of our yard in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a full-time position offering a competitive wage along with the following:

• Working under the direction of the supervisor, the Directional Drill Locator will operate a directional drilling locator to guide the drill safely underground.
• Drilling machine and drive the support vehicle (s) used to transport this equipment to various project sites.

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
• Load and unload directional drill equipment in a manner that is secure and damage free.
• Operate the drill head locator safely and ensure best drilling practices.
• Transport associated tools, materials and/or equipment in a safe manner.
• Complete Driver’s logbook & daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident, or incident reports.
• Complete a daily inspection on equipment prior to commencing work.
• Prepare the drill fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing.
• In conjunction with locator, operate the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and / or duct.
• Trouble shoot any equipment issues and relay to service technician for assistance or resolution.
• Able to operate the drill locater as required.
• Other duties as required.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
• A valid CDL is not required, but considered an asset.
• Must have 1-3 years previous drill locating experience and working around existing buried utilities.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be familiar with OSHA requirements.
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety as per job requirements.
