Job Title: Entry Level Driller Helper

Job Description

We are a Civil/Geotechnical firm seeking enthusiastic candidates to train for fieldwork on various geotechnical projects around the KC metro area with 50% regional travel (home on weekends) across TX, OK, KS, MO, NE, and IA. A company vehicle is provided for job site travel, and per diem is available when necessary. Ideal candidates will enjoy working outdoors, be willing to work in inclement weather as part of a small team, be handy with tools, and capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting specialized equipment up to 50 pounds. No prior experience is required, but candidates must be willing to submit to a drug test and background check and have reliable transportation to get to the office.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Geotechnical Drilling Crew Leader on auger/rotary drilling machines.

• Help the driller in the field with soil borings, soil sampling, monitoring well installations, and rock coring.

• Report findings and collect and sort field samples for the laboratory.

• Replace drill augers and perform additional duties as directed by the lead driller.

Essential Skills

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Physical ability to push, pull, and lift specialized equipment up to 50 pounds.

• Willingness to submit to a drug test and background check.

• Reliable transportation to get to the office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• General labor experience.

Work Environment

This role involves working in remote field locations around the KC Metro area, with potential for longer distances depending on the project. Candidates will travel regionally but will be home on weekends. A company vehicle will be provided for job site travel, and per diem is available when necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
