Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Driver will carry out general delivery duties in line with the requirements of the Logistics Manager or Driver Coordinator.
Key responsibilities:
· Delivering and collecting from suppliers and customers in a safe and timely manner and completing relevant checks and related admin as required.
· Ensuring that vehicles have sufficient fuel and are always ready for use.
· Perform driving duties in the most efficient and environmentally friendly manner while minimising journey times and aligning drop-offs to achieve delivery deadlines.
· General maintenance and cleaning of vehicles as set out by Logistics manager and highlighting of any issues that need addressing.
· Carry out regular (Daily, Weekly, etc) safety checks as stated in the companies’ policies and procedures.
· Adhering to and promoting Health and Safety and compliance.
· Maintain a professional personal image and promoting the company’s reputation and image.
· Assist Stores with stock management according to priorities as set out by Stores team Leader and or logistics manager
· At all times the driver is to ensure they are managing their workload in line with the requirements of the company. When there is less requirement for driving duties, the onus is on the driver to speak to their line manager to be given other duties. There is often a requirement at GTR for personnel to work outside of their general job description, which includes extra hours.
Key requirements:
· A full UK driver’s license
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Exceptional interpersonal skills
· Good verbal communication
· Proficiency using GPS devices
Core hours are Between 10am and 6pm Monday to Friday however you may be requested from time to time to work outside these between 6am to 8pm Monday-Saturday as required with overtime available, you will be expected to work 40hrs 5days a week as directed. Flexible breaks as required due to the nature of the job, a minimum of two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute break.
