We’re looking for experienced Civil Driver Operators to join our Nelson team, with a strong focus on developing future Forepersons.
This role will see you working hands-on across civil projects while also building your capability in leading crews, coordinating day-to-day activities, and supporting Supervisors.
You’ll be responsible for:
Operating plant and machinery safely and efficiently
Transporting, loading and unloading equipment (Class 4/5 work)
Supporting site crews to deliver high-quality civil works
Assisting with planning daily tasks, plant, and people allocation
Taking the lead on-site when required and mentoring junior staff
Ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and environmental standards
Ngā pūkenga matua | Important Skills
We’re looking for operators who are not just technically strong, but ready to step into leadership .
You will bring:
Class 4 or 5 New Zealand driver’s licence
Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsement
Proven experience in civil construction
Confidence operating a range of plant and equipment
Experience supporting or leading small crews (or ready to step up)
Strong communication and a proactive, can-do attitude
Commitment to safety and quality outcomes
