Overview
London Borough of Harrow have a fantastic opportunity for a Driver Team Leader to join their Environmental Service Delivery team.
The post holder will be required to drive a LGV (Class II) and other vehicles for the collection of refuse, and other waste material and take loaded vehicles for tipping or recycling. The post holder will ensure services are provided to a consistently high quality of excellence in accordance with the Authority’s Service Specification.
In addition, the post holder will be required to work as part of the Waste Services teams in accordance with statutory requirements and in compliance with relevant Council policies and procedures. The Driver Team Leader will be responsible for supervising up to 3 members of staff.
About You
To be successful in this role you would need to have the below skills & experience:
• High standard of driving skills
• Current clean LGV (Class II) driving licence holder, or working towards, the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, i.e. residents, staff, management, members of the public and other road users
• Ability to provide a high standard of customer care at all times ensuring a high excellence of service delivery
• Ability to follow route plans and maps
• Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
• Desirable experience, Experience of refuse collection operations, CITB Plant (HIAB) Operators Certificate and LGV (Class II) driving experience
