About the Role:

A key role based at our Brisbane depot in Acacia Ridge, our Driver Trainer is responsible for the training, familiarisation of equipment / devices and the induction of all new drivers.

As our operations are 24/7, flexibility is required to connect with the Drivers at various times across the week or adhoc on weekends. Travel to various sites is required as needed.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Mentor and train drivers on the safe operation and maintenance of the vehicles.

Conduct refresher courses, training sessions or training updates & assessments to provide development of all driving staff.

Provide advice and interpretation of road rules.

Oversee all compliance paperwork for drivers on the site to support the day-to-day operations.

Assisting with pre-employment assessments of potential new employees.

Ensuring all new drivers have completed relevant paperwork and provided any licences, training records or certificates relevant to the position.

Reviewing driver training packages and onboarding materials

About you:

The candidates we are looking for will have:

Current and valid MC Licence

Cert IV in Training and Assessment

Extensive experience in the operation of heavy vehicles including multi combinations

Confident knowledge of the concepts of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Chain of Responsibility (CoR)

Understand weight distribution, load restraint, dangerous goods, completing work diaries and vehicle maintenance

Cert IV in Workplace health and safety (highly desirable but not essential)

Forklift licence competency ticket (highly desirable but not essential)

To be successful for this role applicants must:

Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and ******* test

Be willing to be flexible to work adhoc shifts & weekends to connect with the drivers as needed.

Willing to travel interstate as needed
