Qualifications
Current commercial drivers’ license (CDL) required
Must be at least 21 years of age to operate any Cedarhurst vehicle
Must be over the age of 23 to operate a Cedarhurst 15 passenger van
Must have a positive/clean driving record
Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, and Fire Fox), Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and Publisher, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and any HR related systems if applicable

Responsibilities
This position requires availability to work on Mondays and Wednesdays
As a Driver, you will have the opportunity to connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our residents daily!
You will be responsible for the safe transport of community residents to and from the identified destination while effectively communicating with community leadership to ensure transportation needs are being met
As a Driver, you will impact the lives of our residents by -
Driving company vehicle from community area to destination according to assigned schedule
Assisting passengers into and out of vehicle
Securing passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip
Operating radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service
Cleaning and servicing vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories
Meeting all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
Ensuring effective communication is being utilized by community staff with the residents’ families concerning residents’ care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing
Working well with others and taking direction from management, as well as taking initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand/move, communicate, and identify written information
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently; occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds with assistance
Must remain flexible and have the ability to work weekends, when necessary
Other duties as assigned
Job description
Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Driver at our Cedarhurst of Woodstock community. This position requires availability to work on Mondays and Wednesdays.

To become a Driver, you will need -
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ years of public transportation experience preferred, preferably in a senior living community.
• Current commercial drivers’ license (CDL) required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to operate any Cedarhurst vehicle.
• Must be over the age of 23 to operate a Cedarhurst 15 passenger van.
