Job Overview
Role: D&T Machine Learning Engineer I
General Mills, Digital and Technology India, is seeking a Machine Learning Systems Engineer to join the D&T Global Data Science Organization. This team builds enterprise-level scalable and sustainable data and model pipelines to serve the analytic needs of business-impacting problem statements, maintains cloud platforms, and explores new complementary tooling for Data Science and ML requirements.
In this role, you are a critical member of the data science team focused on leading efforts in adopting and enhancing analytic capabilities in the machine learning and cloud space. A key component of this will be exploring and implementing new tools and infrastructure as well as maintaining machine learning pipelines and advanced analytic solutions. You will work towards building scalable, resilient, and automated solutions on GCP (Google Cloud Platform) along with the exploration, implementation, and maintenance of third-party tools.
This role works in close collaboration with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Service Engineers and Solutions Managers to support analytic consumption needs. It enables the rapid execution of projects in the development and production environment and enables the exploration of new complementary tools. Enhances the performance of the models and automates the production pipelines to gain efficiency.
The role will report to Manager- ML Engineering in India and functionally collaborate with the Global Data Science (GDS) team.
Role Responsibilities
As part of the team, you will be working as an ML Systems Engineer to operationalize key strategic ML models and analytic capabilities.
Cloud and Infrastructure Enablement
• End-to-end responsibility for operationalizing tools and processes including installation, maintenance, documentation, best practices, and training.
• Take responsibility for production infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend changes to reduce/eliminate re-occurrence of issues
• Ability to follow up with vendor partners/service providers in raising critical system issues, brainstorm on root causes, and follow up on timely remediation of such issues
• Collaborate and communicate across several teams.
• Solve problems and resolve issues across several teams and projects.
• Ownership of cloud security compliance.
ML Tooling exploration, Tooling, and Process improvements
• Support new tooling exploration for Cloud and ML tools including technical feasibility, and comparative analysis of ML capabilities between a 3rd party/open-source tool with cloud-native options.
• Support comprehensive tooling analysis and documentation
• Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ML models, applications, and tools.

• Professional experience with a major cloud computing platform (Google Cloud Platform is preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with colleagues of varying technical and non-technical abilities.
