Job Description
Position Summary:
The E-Billing Specialist prepares, submits, and collects client assigned electronic bills for assigned billing attorneys as well as submits the accruals in the E-Billing systems. This position is responsible for the daily e-bill audit process and assumes e-billing responsibility to ensure all issues resolved or escalated as needed. The E-Billing Specialist I works under general supervision and relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
• Review client billing guidelines and manage appropriate rates in E-billing Systems
• Submit accruals in the E-Billing systems. Monitor accrual deadlines.
• Work with Attorneys, secretaries, and Billing Specialists to ensure e-bills are prepared accurately in accordance with clients’ outside counsel policies
• Assist in creating new e-files in the required Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard (LEDES) format, etc.
• Submit e-bills to clients and verify successful transmission
• Assist in preparing appeals for rejected invoices, and troubleshoot to resolve all issues
• Track the status of invoices uploaded identify all issues and works with Billing Attorneys and Billing Specialists to address client deductions and other issues
• Respond to requests for case estimates providing budgets, forecasts and historical profitability
• Ensure superior levels of customer service in interactions with all levels of internal and external clients, vendors, and other third parties
Job Specifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least two (2) years of related work experience
• Knowledge of e-billing software, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Strong data entry and typing skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities

Target Hiring Range $64,000 - $98,000

Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
