Location – Makarba, Ahmedabad
Experience: - 10+ years of experience in e-commerce leadership roles, preferably in FMCG / Consumer Goods
Qualification - Graduate / MBA / PGDM in Marketing, Business, or related discipline.
Reporting: Director
Team handling: 8-10 people
About the Role:
Position Summary
The Head of E-commerce will be responsible for building the e-commerce division, formulating strategies, and driving execution to scale the business across India. This role demands strategic vision, strong leadership, marketplace expertise, and proven business acumen to drive revenue growth and profitability. This role comes with the opportunity to build an e-commerce vertical from inception, drive Pan-India expansion, and shape the future of the company’s digital journey.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Business Development
● Define and execute the e-commerce roadmap aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
● Identify and acquire strategic e-commerce accounts (marketplaces, D2C partners, B2B e-retailers) to expand digital presence and revenue streams.
● Develop scalable business models with clear revenue, margin, and ROI projections.
● Identify emerging trends, growth opportunities, and new digital channels to expand market reach.
● Present business performance updates and strategic recommendations to management on a regular basis.
2. Team Setup & Leadership
● Build the e-commerce vertical from inception, including organizational structure, hiring strategy, and SOP implementation.
● Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team across operations, account management, digital marketing, analytics and more.
● Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance excellence.
3. Acquisition & Partnership Development
● Identify and acquire strategic e-commerce accounts (marketplaces, D2C partners, B2B e-retailers) to expand digital presence and revenue streams.
● Negotiate high-value commercial agreements, marketing collaborations, and exclusive partnerships to strengthen brand positioning and maximize visibility on leading platforms.
● Develop long-term relationships with key accounts to ensure consistent growth and brand dominance.
4. Platform & Account Management
● Negotiate high-value commercial agreements, marketing collaborations, and exclusive partnerships to strengthen brand positioning.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with leading platforms (Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Nykaa, Blinkit, BigBasket, Jiomart, etc.).
● Lead business planning, category development, and promotional strategies with e-commerce partners.
● Ensure optimal product listing, pricing, inventory availability, and enhanced visibility across all platforms.
5. Sales Growth & P&L Ownership
● Own and deliver revenue targets, profitability, and growth metrics across all e-commerce channels.
● Optimize pricing strategies, promotional planning, and digital spends to ensure maximum ROI.
● Analyze sales trends, track KPIs, and implement corrective actions to achieve business targets.
6. Operations & Fulfilment
● Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure smooth inventory management and order fulfilment.
● Implement best practices to minimize returns and enhance customer satisfaction metrics.
● Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
7. Marketing & Brand Visibility
● Hire marketing teams to design and execute performance-driven digital campaigns, SEO/SEM initiatives, and other digital strategies.
● Ensure a unified and premium brand experience across all digital touchpoints.
● Leverage data analytics to optimize customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
Experience & Skills Required
● Graduate / MBA / PGDM in Marketing, Business, or related discipline.
● 10+ years of experience in e-commerce leadership roles, preferably in FMCG / Consumer Goods
● Proven track record of scaling e-commerce businesses, hiring and building teams, negotiating high-value deals, and achieving revenue targets.
● Strong understanding of marketplace operations, D2C strategies, and omnichannel business models.
● Strong leadership, P&L management, and strategic planning skills.
● Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
● Should be capable enough to handle the Branding, Creative & Performance marketing teams in the future
