Job Description
This competition will be used to staff a variety of 2026 EAL program offerings during Spring & Summer ICPO EAL program offerings, from mid-May to the end of August.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructors report directly to the Explore Program Manager and the ICPO Manager. They are responsible for:
EAL instruction
Collaborative course design and planning, based on pre-determined weekly themes and ICPO guidelines
Student assessment during the program and summative evaluations of student achievement
Participation in staff meetings
Design and lead two to three afternoon educational outings per week
Creating a positive learning environment
Upholding pertinent policies of and regulations of UPEI
Other duties as assigned by the above managers
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.Ed or other degree with equivalent work experience,
EAL teaching experience
Excellent oral and written proficiency in English
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Current criminal record check including working with the vulnerable sector
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
EAL teaching certificate / Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language
Experience working in cross-cultural settings.
Previous experience with UPEI Explore or EAL Customized Programs is an asset
