This summer student opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - Regina's Place
How You Will Make an Impact
Join our dynamic team this summer and contribute to the Good Shepherd Youth Services Regina's Place Program that provides support to young parents and their children. Staff members support young parents to reach personal goals and to have a satisfying and meaningful life. Within this role, you will work to improve overall health, well-being and level of community engagement of young parents and their children. Services to clients include program planning, social/recreational programming, role modelling of positive parenting, life skills teaching ie: cooking and linkages with other community services.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Working towards ECE Diploma or related studies
Experience working with youth and children
Works well in a team setting and independently
Knowledge of child development
Excellent communication, team-building, negotiating and problem-solving skills
Some knowledge of community resources for families
Hiring Criteria - the following criteria is established by Canada Summer Job:
This temporary full-time position is funded by Service Canada for youth between the ages of 15 to 30 years of age.
Applicants may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as they were 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
As per the Summer Canada Jobs Program criteria:
International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
