Early Childhood Assistant – Summer position
We are currently seeking an Early Childhood Assistant to fill an 8-week position starting July 6th (35 hours per week), through the 2026 Canada Summer Jobs Program.
Canada Summer Jobs helps workplaces provide jobs to youth seeking employment experience.
We are an inclusive employer and are prioritizing the recruitment of youth facing barriers to employment including Indigenous youth, racialized youth, black youth and 2SLGBTQI+ youth.
In addition to working directly with children and educators, this RECE position includes the opportunity to develop technological and digital skills to create visuals and documentation for the program. This will include working with the RECE to document and extend the learning from our weekly visits to the Noojimo’iwein Gitigaan/Healing Garden.
Canada Summer Jobs Requirements:
Youth must be between the ages of 18 to 30 years old
Youth must be citizens or permanent residents of Canada
Hippo Nursery School Teacher Position Requirements:
Experience working with children
High School Diploma or equivalent
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Current Emergency First Aid and Child CPR Certificate.
Current (less than 6 months old) Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Up-to-Date evidence of immunization and negative TB test according to TPH requirements.
Have a warm, nurturing personality and enjoy working with a dynamic, creative, caring team.
Experience using technology is an asset.
Salary: $17.60 per hour
