Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to run our nature-based summer care program! This part time summer position has the potential to grow into full time employment in the fall.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, experience working with children, and enjoy facilitating nature-based programming. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The Early Childhood Educator will collaborate with colleagues and families to support each child's individual needs and ensure a positive educational experience.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement creative, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the Early Learning Framework
Take children on outings to nearby parks
Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity and learning.
Support children's social-emotional development through positive guidance and caregiving techniques.
Observe, assess, and document children's progress to tailor instruction and communicate effectively with families.
Collaborate with team members to plan activities that promote early childhood development skills.
Assist children with daily routines such as meal times, activities, and hygiene practices.
Maintain a clean, organized environment that adheres to safety standards and regulations.
Experience
Prior experience working with young children in an educational or caregiving setting is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
Working with children requires patience, creativity, strong communication skills, and a nurturing attitude.
Familiarity with developmental milestones and ability to adapt activities accordingly. This position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while working in a supportive team environment dedicated to early childhood development.
Pay: $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 per week

Scotch Creek, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
